No hurricane here, just tornado. And ya everything went fine then and is going fine now. They are getting it all cleared up. Is definitely going to take years to get it back to where it was before.

hurricane?

now we just have really REALLY cold weather Brrr!

yeah so I got some nasty stares from the ASSociation peeps today, seems that even though we only got a dusting of snow yesterday they wanted us to move our cars out of our driveways---well this presents a big problem: where do you put this car? 1, garage, good answer however, as most families have 2 working people they generally have 2 cars, and with a SINGLE car garage there just simply is no room to put 2 cars in it! 2, the extra lot, well since that needs to be cleared as well--they dont want anyone parking there. 3, the road---our wonderful village wont allow parking on the road during certain hours and when there is snow they generally frown upon cars being where they are plowing too (and if we had a significant amount of snow, exactly HOW would I be getting my car ONTO the street???--gee I would have to shovel my driveway!). so 4, leave the blinkin car in the driveway and snear back at the ASSociation peeps. (yes 4 is my best answer here).

in other stupid village news: our village has dug up all the wet lands by where we live, the purpose? to replace them with........wait for it.........wet lands! if you are thinking huh? then you are thinking too hard and can not run or be elected to any public office. (seriously we are paying the village to dig up the old wet lands and replace them with the same wetlands...who comes up with these colossal wastes of tax monies????)

/sigh

Extremely cold weather to say the least.

At least yours does something. We got an inch here and they just left it. So that has been fun.

Your place does sounds like it is run by idiots. They definitely are not smart people.

Thank goodness it is Friday! Just one more week before 2 weeks of much needed vacation time! A sanity break is definitely in need now!

Supposed to get more white stuff tonight. Hoping it holds off until after I get home. Don't really fancy driving in it.

Got up this AM to a wintery mix. Several accidents in the city, where people can't seem to slow down. Depending on which station we listen to, we can expect a dusting to 7 plus inches of snow by the time this ends. With a range like that, they "can't" miss on the forecast. Tomorrow they will be breaking their arms, patting their backs for getting the forecast right.

Winter isn't officially here yet and I am already tired of it. Come on April!!!

lol....yeah, forecasting is about the only job you can get 100% wrong and still HAVE a job!

I can recall plenty of times they told us we would be getting x inches of snow...and it was clear sunny skies the whole day--not a drop!

and yeah, winter doesnt even get here for another week or so....and we have already had below zero temps and snow on the ground (though I can remember having snow in october so that isnt too different for me)....
just a thought---remember february is supposed to be the coldest month!--just something to look forward to (NOT)

I see I am not the only one that feels that way about forecasters. The local FOX News use to be the doomsayers. "EVERYTHING coming at us had doom and gloom all over it." Now they are the last to spill the doom. CBS seems to be the ones forecasting the most and the "bullseye" keeps moving. ABC and NBC stay about middle ground.

The wife decided to drive the pickup to work and not the 4x4. The heater is better in the truck and it doesn't have to be babysitted while warming up. Her choice. Fortunately, it is less than a couple of miles of "main" roads and 2 blocks of side streets.

Looks like a Netflix night tonight.

Well we have definitely gotten our fair share of snow. Probably somewhere around 3 inches by this point. Guess we will be staying in tomorrow!

not much here after the doom and gloom they were predicting (just hate the weather channel NAMING the storms, what a totally stupid idea not to mention them barely SHOWING weather now).

had a couple of good naps yesterday....looking at wrapping gifts and that tree is looking at me

We are still getting snow here. Someone said we have gotten a little over 6 inches of snow. Glad today is Saturday and not a school day. Would not want to have a snow day today.

we did get about 1" or so...nothing to go ape over....

tree is still looking at me, perhaps I will let it out of its box today. though I think a long nap is on my list of things to do today as well.

Fiep got to watch the repeat of the 'live' sound of music ...not quite as good as the julie andrews one, but he didnt care since he got to hear some of the songs (though he did miss the scenes of Vienna and Salzburg from the movie version). And the snowman on the door looks quite pleased with himself.

Oh I'm sure there are still people there going ape over one inch. People seem to freak out when it rains, let alone an inch of snow.

I'm glad our tree is up. Less that I have to deal with this weekend.

I still couldn't handle the live version.. Just couldn't do it.

got the tree up, now just need to put the decorations on it.

sorry, I forget that peeps seem to forget things that quickly--like how to drive in snow and rain.....memories are very short in some areas.

Ya her acting was pretty bad to put it nicely.

Well we did some shopping tonight. Got more people crossed off the list. More to be crossed off this week. Because Christmas is in a week and a half...

That "hold onto your hat and get out your shovels" storm that blew through Friday, missed us. Nowhere near us got the "expected" 7 inches. Didn't even put down much of a dusting. It went "wide right" (east) of us. Forecaster said, "Last minute wobble, pushed it farther east before swinging north." They do a decent job of predicting storms during the spring and summer, but the snow storms are hard to predict.

Had an unexpected visitor Saturday. A "rich" cousin brought us a very unexpected gift. Other than milk, bread, and eggs, we probably won't be buying groceries before the end of January. I wasn't sure who the white van belonged to when it pulled up. Then my cousin and his 2 older boys got out. He asked if he could back the van up to the door, "He had something for us." Box after box, bag after bag, came out of the back and side of his van. Before he left, I was handed a $100 gift certificate to Price Choppers, "for those paper items."

Totally unexpected, but greatly appreciated.

Last full week that is either going to go fast. Or super slow. My guess is the latter... Oh well.

Got some more shopping done. Doing some more right now, then a bit more after that! The fun never stops!

Glad that it missed you. Definitely got it full force here but it has let off a bit. Supposed to rain now on Thursday before more wintery mix on Friday. o.O Crazy.

Wow that sounds awesome, very nice of them to do Perk!

My full week is working and also trying to finish up buying Christmas gifts. It is a joy. Especially since we are leaving on Saturday. Which means this weekend is shot for gift buying...
